The Powers That Be Electric, Inc. is an electrical contractor that handles any aspect of consumer-side electrical usage. No job is too small for us even if you only need an outlet or switch changed, a new hot tub wired up, or a new power distribution center set up in your hotel. The company was created with the idea that excellent work does not have to come at a bankrupting price.

We are a family oriented company, with traditional values and goals. Every one of our employees strives for excellence in their work and customer service skills.

Safety is a number one priority to us. We refuse to take shortcuts on jobs that others might take, just to get the job done. We believe that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing correctly and safely, the first time.

Richard Bleil



Owner/President



Richard is the President and Owner of The Powers That Be Electric, Inc. With his 16+ years in the electrical field, Richard is able to design, install, and diagnose any electrical system or problem that you might have.


Richard started his electrical career in the commercial market and has had experience with large projects like hotels, as well as smaller ones such as storefront build-outs. He also has long-term experience in the residential market and has installed the electrical systems in many houses in the Hampton Roads and North-East North Carolina area. He currently holds an Electrical Masters License in the Commonwealth of Virginia.


In his off time, Richard enjoys visiting with family, entertaining guests at his home, and his two dogs.
